Folds of Honor Friday On Friday, September 11, the Sanford International will debut Folds of Honor Friday during the first round of the 2026 Sanford International. This year’s observance marks 25 years since the September 11 attacks, and we will honor those we lost, along with the service members and first responders who protect our country and communities every day, during our Opening Ceremony. Patrons are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue on Friday — and throughout the weekend — in a show of support for our nation’s heroes.
Prior to the start of first-round play, the Opening Ceremony presented by Silencer Central will take place at 9 a.m. on the first tee. Highlights include a performance of the national anthem, a color guard presentation, a flyover by four F-16 Fighting Falcon jets from the South Dakota Air National Guard, and a ceremonial opening tee shot by Sanford Children’s Ambassador Owen Ragsdale.
In partnership with Folds of Honor, the Sanford International is proud to help provide educational scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members and first responders in the greater Sioux Falls area. Through this initiative, fans, partners, and the community come together to celebrate patriotism, service, and the enduring impact of giving back. This year’s Folds of Honor Friday builds on the Sanford International’s ongoing commitment to military and first responder causes, including previous tournament support for organizations such as Folds of Honor South Dakota and Veterans Community Project.
Make a Direct Impact: Military Appreciation Packages Folds of Honor Friday also serves as a unique opportunity for partners to make a direct impact through our Military Appreciation Packages. These specially designed partnership opportunities allow companies to purchase tournament experiences — such as hospitality, Pro-Am teams, and exclusive events — that are then donated to active-duty service members, veterans, and military-focused organizations. These experiences can be enjoyed firsthand or used to further fundraising efforts, while a portion of each package directly benefits Folds of Honor.
