Sanford International Internship Program

The Sanford International is a professional golf tournament on the PGA TOUR Champions held at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The tournament will take place September 9th-15th and will host golf legends from around the PGA TOUR Champions.

Operated by Pro Links Sports, this internship will provide students the opportunity to network worldwide, and grow personally and professionally in future careers. The Sanford International Internship Program is fully hands-on when coordinating a PGA TOUR Champions event under the guidance of tournament staff before and after the tournament.

Operations Intern

  • Work with Operations Coordinator and staff to obtain and place all necessary furniture and other supplies in expos, Falls Pavilion, Volunteer Oasis, Skyboxes and other miscellaneous facilities.
  • Main contact for kiosk and expo tent vendors.
  • Work closely with pro-am committee to ensure successful execution of pro-am days.
  • Responsible for inventory of all shipments in and out of the office.
  • Work with Operations Coordinator to ensure all sponsor signage is ordered and correctly placed.
  • Responsible for staff, volunteer, and vendor golf cart inventory.
  • Assist staff with various tasks and responsibilities.

Event Management Intern – Volunteer

  • Assist with Volunteer Distribution, Volunteer Appreciation Party, and other tournament related events.
  • Schedule, recruit, and train volunteers to work various shifts throughout the week.
  • Conduct sales calls to obtain volunteer gift donations.
  • Source and recruit volunteers using different recruiting various techniques.
  • Assist staff with various tasks and responsibilities.

Event Management Intern – Special Events

  • Assist with special event planning for tournament week: Shorty’s Shootout, Women’s Day, Sunset Skins, Contest of Champions, Championship Pro-Ams.
  • Aid in the creation of event collateral- Invitations, swag, trophies, PowerPoint presentations.
  • Source event materials needed – cups, napkins, décor, furniture, etc.
  • Work directly with hired vendors before and during tournament week.
  • Assist staff with various tasks and responsibilities.

Photography Intern

  • Fulfill internal photo requests from tournament staff.
  • Assist in capturing the excitement, emotion, and fun around the Sanford International Week of events.
  • Responsible for logging daily recap photos, working with the Social Media Intern and Tournament Manager to identify unique and compelling photography to be distributed across Sanford International digital platforms.
  • Capturing hospitality areas to be used for future sales and marketing presentations.
  • Be available to photograph all Sanford International events during the week of September 9-15, 2024.
